e.tv, a proud supporter of the Cancer Association of South Africa’s (CANSA) Relay For Life programme, has selected TLC Unlimited’s Glamcam, part of the Primedia Unlimited stable, to engage participants at selected CANSA’s Relay For Life events.
CANSA Relay For Life is part of an international movement that unites cancer survivors and the communities that care about them. It offers everyone in a community, both young and old, the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer and to honour those who have been touched by cancer. It is an opportunity for survivors and their loved ones to fight against cancer together.
Relay For Life is a fun, overnight team event, which is volunteer-driven and community-owned. At each Relay event, teams of 10 to 15 friends, neighbours, families and co-workers commit to having at least one team member walking around the track at all times for 18 to 24 hours, because cancer neither slumbers nor sleeps.
Teams are encouraged to raise funds in support of the fight against cancer in the region where the event is being held. Teams camp out overnight around the track and enjoy entertainment, fun and camaraderie in a festival-like atmosphere.
“e.tv selected Glamcam as part of its activation at the Relays to interact with the people attending each event, and to take special photographs of them to ensure a lasting memory of the event,” says TLC Unlimited’s Brett Tucker.
Whilst 70+ Relays take place around the country, e.tv hosts activations at 10 of them. Glamcam activations took place in Paarl and Bethlehem in February, and will take place in Pretoria, Middleburg, East Rand, Port Elizabeth and Pietermaritzburg in March.
“Glamcam’s event photos enable e.tv to thank community members for taking part in CANSA’s Relay For Life in a unique and innovative way,” says Tucker.
