Primedia Unlimited’s Mall Active is ensuring that SIM-Sonke, the prepaid tariff plan launched by Telkom’s mobile arm, gets as much ‘talk time’ as possible.
The brand activation specialist is helping to spread awareness of the initiative, which offers prepaid customers on-net calls at 29c per minute, on per-second billing.
A bright blue branded double-decker bus is touring Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape for the six-month duration of the campaign. It pulls in at pedestrian-dense spots and engages consumers about SIM-Sonke, which offers the lowest standard prepaid mobile call rates in South Africa.
“The campaign targets lower LSM consumers and those who love staying in touch with family and friends. The message that they can make calls for longer, and for less money, has been well received. The arrival of the bus generates huge interest, which turns into genuine excitement when the details of SIM-Sonke and its ‘lowest pre-paid call rate’ are shared,” says Mall Active’s Travis Brown.
Consumers who Rica their free Sim card on the day qualify for an instant prize. In addition, if they spend an additional R20 on airtime, they stand the chance to go into the Money Dome to win further prizes.
