X/procure®, Primedia Unlimited’s electronic procurement software solution which enables more than 65% of South African pharmacies to purchase scheduled and OTC pharmaceutical, surgical and front shop requirements directly from wholesalers and distributors, has reached the very significant R70-billion order mark.
The announcement is more significant in that the company reported reaching the R60 billion mark in May 2013, processing a further R10 billion in orders in less than a year.
“Considering the amount of orders going through our system on a daily basis, the achievement really is fantastic. Furthermore, another record was reached when more than 90% of our pharmacy clients placed orders on the same day,” says JD Henderson, Managing Director of X/procure®.
To ensure that clients have the most efficient and user-friendly system, X/procure® conducts weekly innovation sessions to discuss and brainstorm new and improved functionality requests from customers.
The company has also implemented a remote control system called “X/procure® QuickSupport” which provides fast telephonic support to clients and in addition, its call centre operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
“We achieved this milestone as a result of our increased national footprint in both the SA and Sub Saharan markets and the outstanding service delivery that we offer our clients,” JD adds.
“We have seen an increase in basket sizes as more and more of our valued pharmacy clients prefer to place their orders electronically. Our clients have also said that they prefer to utilise our software because of its ordering ability and targeted educational advertising. The useful features of our software include an easy-to-use reporting tool, a message service which acts as an education mechanism to our pharmacists on issues of packaging / pricing changes etc.”
“Complementing our overall health care strategy is X/procure®’s digital advertising component, XP Digital™ which allows targeted advertising to consumers in a retail pharmacy environment. This business is showing great growth in comparison to previous years,” he says.
